It's Friday, Friday

Hey everyone! Hope you had a great week. I am spending mine at the conference for the Eastern Communication Association in Providence, Rhode Island this week and I must say that it has been a great experience so far. Tonight, I will be giving a presentation for the Undergraduate Scholars Conference on my research of community relations and ethics at Carnival Cruise Lines. I am so grateful for this whole experience!

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Transformation Tuesday

I want to use my post today as a source of inspiration for those who have ever struggled with weight loss. I'm going to share one of my most proudest moments. Those who don't know me probably never would have guessed that I used to be a lot bigger. Growing up, I was always a large girl. It's something that I never really let get me down though. I have always been an energetic and bubbly person. I'm a positive person and I like to live my life happily. As second semester of my sophomore year in college approached, I stepped on the scale and realized that I was the largest I've ever been. It scared me. I began thinking about health problems that could develop later in life and just how much it would affect my daily routine. It was in that moment that I made the decision to change my life. Healthier eating habits and dedication to daily exercise are what have helped me reach goals over this two-year journey. One very important thing I have learned from my journey, probably the most important thing actually, is that having a positive attitude is KEY. I kept my mind at a very good place throughout my transformation and it has helped shape me as a person. I told myself that it wasn't realistic OR healthy to lose 50 pounds in a month and that results were not going to come overnight. In the past, I think that's why I ways struggled with the thought of losing weight. It's easy to lose motivation and get lazy when you expect instant results, which is why I changed my way of thinking. It's a process and you have to be patient. Slow progress is better than no progress. That is the mindset you have to have. I promise you that you can do ANYTHING once you clean up the way you think. I am proud to share that I have lost over 100 pounds and I couldn't feel better about myself. Others tell me that I am their inspiration and I feel so honored knowing that. It's a very rewarding feeling. I continue to make healthy food choices without depriving myself from the ones I enjoy. I LOVE food. I'm just smarter about it now. Also, I continue to exercise everyday. It is such a huge part of my life now and it always will be.

Motivational Monday

Happy Monday!
Today is one of those days where school has me a little stressed. I think we all have been able to relate to this before, right? When days like this come your way, know that things will fall into place. There's no need to ever doubt yourself. Keep your mind positive!

Life's a Journey; Enjoy it!

Hey! I'm Natalie. I'm all about experiencing new things, taking chances, and living life to the fullest. The best kind of attitude is an optimistic one. I've realized this throughout my life. We all have bad days. We've all probably had some setbacks. Why let them knock you down or hold you back? Each moment you spend having a negative mind takes away from all the great things in your life. Having a healthy, positive mindset will take you far and it makes life that much better. Learn to appreciate what you have, admire the beauty in things, and make each day meaningful. Wake up with a smile. Tell yourself you will accomplish what you want to accomplish. Make goals and reach them. Great things have happened to me in my life just by believing in myself, never choosing to give up, and having a positive attitude. It's a key ingredient in the recipe for enjoying life. Always keep your head up and strive to live a life filled with happiness. The idea of this blog is to send positive vibes to my readers. I'll post about things that I enjoy, things that have changed my life, quotes that are important to live by; anything that I feel is meaningful.

This is my wall. Every morning I wake up and every night before I go to bed, this is what I see.
 What a great motto!
